With some many amazing tech toys for kids being released in 2014 the question inevitably comes up.
What will be the biggest selling tech toys this christmas?
A lot of the development in kids tech toys this year have followed the trends for all consumer technology. There has been a huge increase in demand for wearable tech, tablet computers, app-controlled equipment and new entertainment systems across the industry.
Here are the toys that we expect to be featured on millions of children’s christmas list this year. We have heard through the grapevine that Santa and his elfs are very busy wiring circuit boards and polishing screens.
“More than just a watch, VTech’s Kidizoom Smartwatch lets your budding creative take photos, videos, play learning games and tell time for learning fun on the go!” Amazon
This next year is set to be the year of wearable tech, with every large electronics company releasing either a smartwatch or fitness band. In the same way our kids have wanted to get their little sticky hands on our phones and tablets, they are sure to clog up the hands of digital time with crayons and spittle. Just like with tablets the best way to make sure your tech toys stay in perfect condition is to buy them their own.
The Kiddizoom smartwatch is made with strong flexible plastic that is adjustable for all wrist sizes. The watch comes with four educational games preinstalled, each with a different learning objective. These games are more suitable for children under 4 years of age. For slightly older children the Kiddizoom smartwatch has a camera capable of photos and videos and even has built in editing tools. The best feature is once your child starts to get tired of the preloaded content, you can go online and download more apps.

Drive circles around your friends with Sphiro’s new engine, turn your living room into a video game with augmented reality apps like The Rolling Dead, and upgrade family game night with multiplayer apps like ColorGrab. You can even get a crash course in programming Sphero with MacroLab.” Amazon
In my opinion the Sphiro 2.0 is not just going to be one of the top selling toys this christmas but it might just be one of the coolest tech toys every! Why? I’m sure we can all remember the toys where you have a maze that you work a small ball bearing or marble around to find your way to the end. In my life time this has gone from a ball bearing on a flat maze, to a marble in a 3D maze, to a game played on smartphones moving a digital ball around many different mazes, to the Sphiro 2.0 where you can move a beautiful robotic ball, controlled by your smartphone, using the world as your maze.
Acclaimed by Popular Science, Forbes, Wall Street Journal, Time, and NBC and featured as one of the year’s hottest gadgets by TechCrunch, Wired, Gizmodo, Engadget, and Make magazine, Sphiro offers a new type of play for the smartphone generation.

As a kid I quite literally used to dream about having my own robot buddy to play with. But even the one in my dream wasn’t a self-balancing bi-wheeled robot, that looks like it was pulled straight out of a Pixar movie. The hand following feature makes MiP feel very life like and makes him into a robotic pet. The app-controlled element of MiP is where he becomes more of a robotic buddy who can carry stuff for you – even another MiP. There are seven different models and exclusive deluxe packs available.
